Adding a Directory

To add a directory to ExpressLink:
1. Open Express Link
2. Click on "Directories"
3. Click on "Add"
a. If you have not logged onto ExpressLink yet, you will be prompted to do so now. You cannot add a Directory without logging in.
4. Select the Document Type from the drop-down list. The Document Type will upload every file for that Directory as the type you specify. (If you are not sure, choose [System] Solution Default)
5. Choose the Directory Path for your files. The Directory Path is the address for the upload folder, either on your computer or on a local network.
a. Always choose a folder for the directory path, never a single file.
b. It is safe to select a folder that has other folders inside it. ExpressLink only searches for files in the main folder, and does not upload any files in deeper directories.
6. DO NOT CHECK THE BOX that is labeled with "This is a batch directory".
7. Click "Add". ExpressLink will automatically begin uploading the files in the specified location.

To delete a directory on ExpressLink:
1. Right-click on the directory in ExpressLink
2. Click "Delete Directory"

Tips:
a. An easy way to find the directory path is to find the folder in Windows, and click on the address bar at the top of the screen. You can copy/paste the address into the Directory Path field.
b. After you've added the directory, you can check on the status of the files by double-clicking on the directory listing in ExpressLink. Please allow up to 10 minutes for files to begin uploading.
c. If the directory is showing the files as found, but is not uploading, or is creating errors, Log out of ExpressLink by clicking Sync > Logout and then logging back in. It may also be necessary to delete and re-add the directory.

Notes:
a. Under normal curcumstances, the "Solution" drop-down menu will automatically lync with your database after you log in, and it does not need to be changed when adding a directory.
